Another Valentine's Day

Valentine Heart

I have to be honest with you. I've never been too big on celebrating Valentine's Day. But now that I have been married five years, maybe I can do something?

How about throwing a party? It's too difficult shopping for my husband, so I've decided to invite a few couples over for a couples game night. No kids.

Keeping it small is key. So including my husband and I, I will invite three other couples as 8 is a good number for games.

Maybe order in from a restaurant to keep it simple. And spend time on the drinks, like this recipe for Rose Prosseco Cocktails (BBC Food Recipe)? or this delicious recipe for Strawberry Daiquiris (BBC Food Recipe)?

For snacks I am tempted to go for the good old Valentine classics...like chocolate dipped strawberries, Heart Shaped Cookies, Almonds, Honey Nuts, Brazil Nuts and Yummy Maltesers.

A party isn't a party without party games!
We love Cards against Humanity, as it's a brilliant game to get to know each other. It's NOT politically correct at all as you choose the answer that you think the person asking the question would choose as the answer and so it's fantastic as a group game. I recommend it...as long as no one gets offended!

We played Pictionary over Christmas with a few couples and teamed up with our partners. It was so entertaining and proved to my husband and I that we do understand each other!

One that I've not played yet, but have heard great things about is Taboo, so I definitely want to give this a go.

So it's decided then, Valentine's can be a night in with good friends, good food, good drinks and lots of games.

Happy Valentines Day!
